This is my version of the classic cloth tear simulation. You can interact with the cloth by Mouse and Touch. Stretching the cloth (left mouse button) beyond a constraint limit will tear the cloth. Holes can be made in the cloth using the right mouse button. Open the controls panel to adjust or restart the simulation. The motion of the cloth is controlled using 'verlet integration'. The cloth is constructed using the ropes from the 'Rope' simulation but now in two dimensions. The limited rigidity of the cloth is maintained using length and pin constraints. A hexagonal cloth simulation was also developed, but is much less stable than the square cloth presented in this simulation.
